Jennings class of 1953 celebrating 55th reunion

FORT JENNINGS - Fort Jennings High school class of 1953 will celebrate its 55th class reunion July 19. A Mass will be celebrated at 5 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church. A banquet will follow at The Outpost. The 1953 class members began their education under the guidance of the Tiffin Franciscans; first grade teacher, Sr. Mary Elwardine; second grade, Sr. Mary Barbara; third grade, Sr. Mary Paul and Sr. Mary Winifred; fourth grade, Sr. Mary Theophane; fifth grade, Sr. Mary Agnes; and sixth grade, Sr. Mary Celestine.
Of the 20 members of the class, nineteen survive. Ann Biedenharn Spencer died this past August.
The class flower was a carnation. "Climb though rocks be rugged," was the class motto. Rose and silver were class colors.

Class president was Betty Siebeneck; vice president, Roger Broecker; and secretary-treasurer, Sylvia Wittler.
