Putnam County Sheriff's log: Week of August 22, 2012

Vincent J. Bupp, 16, Columbus Grove, was traveling west on St. Rt. 12 when he came around a curve too fast and spun the car around and went off the left side of the road and hit an embankment.Kayla Fortman, 25, Kalida, was traveling eastbound on St. Rt. 613 when Dave Nienberg, 37, Kalida was stopped at the stop sign at St. Rt. 108. Fortman ran into the back of the stopped Nienberg. No injuries were reported.
Robert Charles Dick, 31, Delphos was traveling south on St. Rt. 190 when the vehicle went off the west side of the roadway, striking an embankment and a tree. The driver advised he fell asleep. The property owner was Alison L. Metcalfe located at 17854 St. Rt. 190 in Fort Jennings.
Jared A. Rader, 19 of Leipsic, was traveling south on Rd. 3 when he passed a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The two vehicles sideswiped. Driving the other car was Jill M. Diller, 57, of Leipsic who was traveling north on Rd. 3. Diller stated that she was on her side of the road, when she passed the combine, and the ladder from the combine damaged the left side of her vehicle.
Michael G. Weller, 59, Continental, was traveling northbound on Main St. and turned left onto Grove St. He advised he stopped, checked for traffic and began to back out onto Main St. when he struck Hayley R. Wilson, 25, Oakwood. Weller said he didn't see Wilson's car behind him. Wilson stated that she was westbound on Grove St. and stopped for the stop sign at Main St. She said she saw Weller stopped and sitting on the opposite side of Grove St. She said she continued west on Grove St. thinking Weller was parking there, but saw his reverse lights at the last second. She was too late to do anything and was backed into.
Dale A. Ricker, 44, or Ottawa, was traveling East on Old U.S. 224 and drove off the left side of the roadway after descending a small hill. Ricker over corrected, causing the car to lose control and spin. He slid off the right side of the road and over turned after entering a large ditch.
