GLANDORF — Face painting, turtle races, bean soup and live bands will
all be part of this year’s Glandorf ParkFest, Friday, Aug. 29, and
Saturday, Aug. 30. The annual festival raises money for ongoing projects
in the village park.
The festival will begin Friday evening with
kids face painting and a candy store behind the fire station from 6 p.m.
to 9 p.m. The popular turtle races will begin at 8 p.m. that evening
and end at 11 p.m.
Also starting at 8 p.m.will be the the Raquet Club featuring Nate Felkey of Nashville Crush.
activities will start early on Saturday morning when the 5K Turtle Trot
Run and Little Turtle Fun Walk will begin at 10 a.m. Registration for
the run begins at 9 a.m. under the big tent.
The kids face painting and candy store behind the fire station will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
New this year is the pre-school bike raffle under the dance tent. Register at 10 a.m. for the raffle. The drawing is at 11 a.m.
A double-elimination corn hole tournament will start at noon. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $30 per team.
Glandorf Lions Club members will begin serving their famous beam soup at noon.
Also starting at noon is the reverse raffle. The evening will end at 2:30 p.m. with a $10,000 grand prize.
contests in the park will be featured from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. followed
by a performance of the Ottawa-Glandorf High School band at 3 p.m.
The outdoor Catholic Mass at the shrine, across from the church, will begin at 4 p.m.
for Treat by the World Youth Day group will be held on the front church
lawn from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Just toss a football into “Brutus” and win a
cod treat that can be redeemed at the Sweet Shoppe tent.
Turtle races will also be held in the evening from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The Village Idiots Band will perform from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
band performances will be given in the evening starting at 7:30 p.m.
Chance for Dirty 20’s will perform from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Nashville Crush will perform from 8:30 p.m. to midnight.
from the Glandorf Park Fest have been used to complete numerous
projects at the park. Recent projects have included continued work at
Deter’s Park including running water and drain lines to the concession
stand at Deter’s Park, paving the parking lot on the east side of the
park and maintenance work and sealing of Dragon Towers.
