PUTNAM COUNTY — The Putnam County Boxing Club took three boxers to the Ringside World Championships in Independence, Mo. Over 1600 boxers from all over the country and world attended this tournament that started July 28 and ended Aug. 2.

Waylon Lathrop was our first boxer to box in the tournament. On July 31 in ring 3 bout 15 of the first session of the day he lost his bout to a tough McKinny Texas boxer in the 125-pound intermediate division. Waylon had 11 boxers in his division and finished seventh .

Kyle Lathrop took on a boxer from West Texas in the 65-pound peewee division and lost a heart breaking 3-2 split decision. Kyle had 10 boxers in his division and finished fifth over all.

Their third boxer to compete in the tournament was Ryan Santana . This was Ryan 12th bout of his career. He was boxing in a tough division the 132-pound open. He did very good against a very tough Denver, Col. boxer and finished the tournament sixth out of eight boxers.
