PUTNAM COUNTY — The Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) is celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2014.
are hosting their annual auction and dance benefit o Saturday, April
12, and invite everyone and help them celebrate this program in Putnam
Numerous items will be up for auction during this year’s
event including a riding lawnmower donated by HG Violet in Delphos, a
king size Buckeye quilt made and donated by Chasity Tietje and two
polyvinyl gliding chairs donated by Leipsic Do It Best.
Auction and dance will be held at the Ottawa K of C with doors opening
at 5 p.. The auctions tarts at 6 p.m. The dance will follow fro 7 p.m.
to 11 p.m.
Admission is $5 and there will be food and beverages
available for purchase. Along with the auction they will have a 50/50
drawing, raffle items, silent auction of baked goods and many other
The Cancer Assistance program was started in 2004 to help
Putnam County residents that are dealing with the financial burdens of
battling cancer. The program started out helping cancer patients with

It has now evolved to the point where they are able to help patients
with prescriptions, medical supplies and supplements, wigs and copays
that are not covered by insurance.
In 2013 CAP helped 80 people battling cancer in Putnam County and paid out over $96,000.

communities, and the many CAP volunteers that we are able to keep this
program going,” said Lori Schroeder., CAP Event coordinator, “The Annual
Auction & Dance Benefit is our single largest fundraiser for the
program and we are asking once again that everyone come out and support
this great program we have in our county. We need everyone’s help to see
that this program perpetuates into the future.”
