Commission named to begin 100 year celebration for Putnam County Court House

OTTAWA - The Putnam County Commissioners approved a commission to begin the planning of the Putnam County Court House's 100 year anniversary.The commissioners approved a planning commission at their regular agenda meeting Thursday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. The planning commission includes Judge Randall Basinger, Putnam County Common Pleas Judge, Roselia Verhoff, local historian and former Putnam County Auditor, Teresa Lammers, Putnam County Clerk of Courts, Cathy Recker, Putnam County Recorder and John Love, Putnam County Commissioner.
The Putnam County Court House building construction was completed in 1913. The dedication ceremony date is yet to be determined.
The commissioners approved a resolution to close the court house at noon on Good Friday, March 29. The commissioners believe that the flow of traffic in the court house will be at a minimum on Good Friday.
The Putnam County Commissioners will meet again on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. for their regular agenda.
