OTTAWA - On Thursday at 2 p.m. representatives from Poggemeyer Design Group met with elected officials at the Putnam County Court House to discuss the possible regionalization of water and sewer districts within the County.

Ottawa has been looking into this possibility over the last few years. Poggemeyer representatives spoke to a few elected officials from Ottawa and Miller City about Poggemeyer's previous work in other counties such as Wood and Henry counties.

Ottawa was the first municipality to show an interest in regionalization and Miller City soon followed. Currently, Ottawa provides water to Bluffton, Miller City, Glandorf and Brookhill.

The proposed water and sewer district would begin in Ottawa; Miller City has also shown interest in the project.

The village of Ottawa has already applied for a grant which is the first step in this process. After the village finds out if they get grant monies they will continue onto the next steps which include conducting a feasibility study.
