Courthouse celebrates centennial

OTTAWA - The Putnam County Courthouse was a busy place on Sunday. Elected officials, county employees, and residents of all ages were at the courthouse to take part in the centennial celebration of the building.

"This is a beautiful structure," said U.S. Congressman. Robert Latta, R-Bowling Green. 'not only for Ottawa and Putnam County, but a beautiful structure for the state of Ohio. Latta presented the Putnam County Commissioners a proclamation from the U.S. House of Representatives honoring the courthouse for the 100th anniversary. He also gave a U.S. Flag to the county that was flown over the U.S. Capital in honor of the centennial event.
Former Justice Robert Cupp, the main speaker, said the building was an outward symbol of the process of local self government.
