Dog warden making dog tag checks in county
Saturday, August 06, 2011 4:36 AM
PUTNAM COUNTY - The Putnam County Dog Warden will be in the Ottawa, Glandorf, Columbus Grove, Vaughnsville, Pandora and Gilboa areas starting Aug. 8, checking for dog tags.
If you own a dog and have not purchased a dog tag yet, it is in your best interest to have a dog tag before the dog warden stops at your residence.
Failure to have a dog tag will result in charges being filed for Failure to Register Dog if you have owned the dog for more than 30 days and the dog is over the age of three months. State of Ohio Law requires all dogs to have a current dog tag and the tag must be on the dog. Dog tags are available at the Auditor's Office located on the second floor of the Putnam County Courthouse, 245 E. Main Street, Ottawa, OH 45875. The office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If you have any questions, please call the Auditor's Office at 419-523-6686 or the Putnam County Warden at 419-523-8617.
If you can no longer keep the dog, please contact the dog warden to make arrangements to find the dog a new home.
