OTTAWA - The flood mitigation met on Wednesday, March 13 to discuss finalizing plans. These plans will be submitted in the next few weeks as Ottawa and Findlay look into changes to help reduce the amount of flood water in villages.Committee leader, Jason Phillips spoke about his meeting in Buffalo, the leader of the Blanchard District water shed. Phillips shared that Ottawa will hopefully see a change before Findlay. In order for Findlay to see an improvement, areas in Ottawa need fixed first.
Phillips said the Army Corps has not released what two plans have been picked to submit, "they are very protective of the information and want to make sure it is the right to release it," said Phillips.
Phillips did say the two plans have components of the seven plans they have originally been looking at. The plans being looked at include retention areas and diversion channels.
