OTTAWA - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on Nov. 26 at 6:11 p.m. A Ford Focus struck a John Deere tractor on US. 224 near mile post 23 in Ottawa Twp, Putnam County.
A 2002 Ford Focus driven by Nancy J. Kline, 57, of Pandora was westbound on US 224. A 1965 John Deere tractor driven by Mark A. Hempfling, age 50 of Ottawa was westbound on U.S. 224 at a slow speed. Kline struck the tractor and caused severe damage to her vehicle. She sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Ritas emergency where she is in stable condition. Ottawa EMS and Heavy Rescue assisted on scene as well as Deputies from the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. Kline was cited for failing to maintain and assured clear distance. Hempfling was cited for an equipment violation.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
