OTTOVILLE - The Ottoville Park Carnival will be hosting their 51st annual celebration over the Labor Day weekend. We are back to a two day event this year with activities starting on Saturday, August 31 at 9:00 a.m. until midnight, and commencing again on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. until midnight. While being supported by several organizations in our community, the Park Carnival is the only dedicated fund raiser for ongoing maintenance and improvement projects at our park.

There are seven platinum sponsors for this year's Ottoville Park Carnival. The sponsors include Budweiser, K & L Ready Mix, Miller Precision Mfg. Industries, Ottoville Lion's Club, Ottoville VFW Post #3740, The Ottoville Bank Company and Ultra Sound Special events, Inc.. There are also five gold sponsors this year including A&D Tire and Express Mart, Family Chiropractic Center (Ottoville/Oakwood), The Fort Jennings State Bank, Ottoville Hardware & Furniture Company, Schnipke Excavating & Concrete and Turtle's Tavern. The financial donations of these sponsors, as well as our silver and bronze sponsors, provides the Ottoville Park Carnival with a variety of entertainment and attractions.
The main attractions and entertainment this year includes performances by "Steve Hendershot" in our Carnival Lounge on Saturday, August 31st from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Detroit's very own "Fifty Amp Fuse" from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am on the main stage. On Sunday, September 1st, we will have "Polly Mae" from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in our Carnival Lounge and all the way from Nashville, Jared Ashley on the main stage from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am. We will once again have FREE taxi rides home on both Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 pm - 2:00 am.
There are a large number of activities on Saturday, August 31st and the events will kick off with a 5K fun run/walk beginning at 9:00 am. At 11:00 A.M. many other events will begin including the adult wiffle ball tournament, lunch stand, Ultra Sound rides and registration for the corn hole tournament. This year we will be having an opening ceremony at noon, along with the crowning of the Park Carnival King & Queen and the Miniature King & Queen candidates. Other events on Saturday include an OSU tailgate party, Helicopter rides,Texas Hold 'Em tournament, wing cook-off, BBQ chicken dinners by BBQ Express and the Carnival Lounge that will feature Craft Beers and Wines. Several of the new attractions for this year include a mobile zip line, antique tractor display, a pong-a-long tournament, and a performance by Hearts in Motion. Events for the Ottoville Park Carnival resume on Sunday morning at 9:00 A.M. with a Volleyball Tournament along with the concession and lunch stands. We will be having a cheer performance at 11:45 am by the Ottoville Cheer Squads. This years' Parade will be held at 1:00 pm followed by other events on Sunday including helicopter rides, animal petting area, golf challenge, bingo, art space, a performance by PSD Stars by Erin, Cub Scout tractor pull, cow paddy bingo and back this year, Lawn Mower Races.A number of raffles will also be held throughout the weekend for the young and old. A kids' bike raffle will be held giving away free bicycles to youth in attendance at the event on Saturday and Sunday. There is also a raffle booth featuring a variety of different prizes that individuals can purchase tickets for a chance to win. There will also be a number of 50/50 drawings and other raffles held throughout the weekend.
Our Miniature King and Queen candidates are selling tickets for the Entertainment Package Raffle that will be giving away four large items: an Applie iPad Mini, Gas & Charcoal Smoker Grill (and meat package), Hot Air Balloon Ride and 2 OSU football tickets. Incoming high school seniors who are competing for the title of the 51st Annual Ottoville Park Carnival King and Queen are also selling the tickets for the "Big Ticket Drawing." The amount of prize money to be awarded for this drawing has increased to over $2500.
The Ottoville Park Carnival is always held Labor Day weekend. The fun begins Saturday, August 31st at 9:00 A.M. and continues through Sunday night.
