KALIDA - At the first village council meeting of 2013, Kalida's council approved the annual reorganization allowing the hiring and rehiring of village employees. The council members were rehired as well as the village solicitor, fiscal officer, police department employees and fire department employees.

The village council also spoke about the park by laws that they have been working on. Council informed that they still need to do some rewording in the by laws before they can be approved. The park committee shared that they received a donation and it will be put towards new playground equipment for the park.

Separately, the council discussed the amendment of the CRA boundaries for the proposed annexation of land owned by KMI. The council must wait 30 daysas stated by the Ohio Revised Code to accept the annexation and change the zoning of the land.

Council approved the following items, soliciting ordinance second reading, Berheide vacation alley second reading and a residential CRA. The next Kalida Village Council meeting will be Monday Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
