WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) and U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) led a meeting today with The Honorable Jo-Ellen Darcy, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, to discuss various available options for securing funding for the Blanchard River Flood Reduction Project (BRFRP) for the remainder of fiscal year 2013.

"Findlay and Ottawa are valuable assets to the region, and these continued floods only hinder the local economy and pose safety threats for residents. Hancock and Putnam counties have demonstrated a steadfast financial commitment to completion of this project and I remain committed to finding solutions to mitigating the flooding," said Latta.

Residents in Findlay and Ottawa experienced flooding from the Blanchard River late last week. Prior to last week's flooding, Congressman Latta, along with Senators Portman and Brown stressed the importance to complete the study in a letter they sent to Assistant Secretary Darcy.
