COLUMBUS GROVE - New owners have taken over at Alt's Gas Station. Back in Aug. Natta and Gregg Miller sold their business to new time business owners Tiffany and Doug Alt. The Millers decided to retire after a long and successful career owning the Gas Station. "We had a lot of pleasant memories here," stated Natta Miller. "We are leaving on a high note," stated the Millers. Oct. 1982 is when the Millers first took ownership of The Gas Station located at 207 S High St. in Columbus Grove. "We were there for about 30 years and it was time to retire and let someone else have a shot at it," said Gregg Miller.
New owners Tiffany and Doug Alt decided they wanted that shot. With her background in retail and sales Tiffany knew it would be a good business venture. "She has always had an independent entrepreneurial desire," stated Gregg Miller. The Alts are not planning on changing too much, "it wasn't broke so we are not gonna fix it," said Tiffany Alt. They are however looking into expanding the seasonal beers and adding more wine selection to the store.
The Millers shared their sincere appreciation to all their customers throughout the years, "we would like to thank everyone for their support for the last 29 years, with that support we were able to make a living and raise our family," shared Gregg.
Gregg shared some of his favorite memories working at The Gas Station, "The most fun was the kids, I used to joke around with the younger ones when they came in the store. I liked to see how many of them knew their colors. One day a young girl came in and she was about three ft. tall. I said "that's a nice green dress you have on," she walked passed me and just replied, "it's red you knucklehead," laughed Gregg.
