LEIPSIC - If you like contests you will love this Saturday's Leipsic Fall Festival at Buckeye Park. The annual event is packed with different competitions including a new Homemade Salsa Taste Off and Cupcake Wars.

The event will kick off at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast. At 9 a.m. a 5k walk/run is planned.

Then the contests will begin. There is a Giant Sunflower Contest and a Pet Parade at 9 a.m.

A car, tractor and motorcycle (WHEELS) show is planned this year starting at 10 a.m. It will be located on the north side of Buckeye Park.

This will be followed by the Homemade Salsa Taste off at 11 a.m. in the dining tent.

The parade will begin at 1 p.m. This will be followed by a First Christian Farmers Market auction at 2 p.m. in the entertainment tent.

More competition is planned when the kiddie tractor pull begins at 3 p.m. There will also be FFA Field and Garden Contest Judging at 3 p.m.

The festival will also include amusement rides, an exotic animal petting zoo, free pony rides, a farmers market, and craft vendors.

From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. the 50/50 Band will perform in the Entertainment tent. This will be followed from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. by Mark Depoy & Roadside Attractions.

On Sunday, Sept. 22, the activities continue at The Meadows of Leipsic. They will host a chicken barbecue by Leipsic EMS from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pre sale tickets are $8.

The Jay Fox Band will perform from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will also be a jump house for the kids, horse drawn wagon rides and creative crafting for the kids.
