OTTAWA — Last week was a busy week at
Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa, with children and adults
enjoying reading together.
The tenth annual Summer Reads program
was held at the church with 45 students reading with over 40
volunteers from the community. The volunteers included retired
teachers, law officers, city employees, and church members. The
program was open to students who had finished kindergarten to those
who had finished fifth grade. The program was held Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday.
A special event during the Summer Reads
was when Ottawa-Glandorf basketball coach Tyson McGlaughlin and
members of his basketball team came out to speak to the students and
read with them.
