The Ottawa Elementary students were called to a 1:30 p.m. Veterans Day assembly to hear about the meaning of what the Day stands for last Friday.
Several area Veterans were in attendances, and one by one, played a part in explaining the meaning of the day. One man spoke about the freedoms the students had. He told them to look around. In the countries he had fought in, there would be no girls in school.
Two of the area Veterans showed the students how to properly fold a flag, and several other stories were told. Other area schools also celebrate Veterans Day. See our printed version for more photos.
