KALIDA – Chicken wings and good news were both on the menu Thursday night when United Way of Putnam County hosted their annual campaign kick-off at the Kalida K of C.

Five restaurants competed to win the “People’s Choice and “Judge’s Choice award during the chicken wing competition. Henry’s Restaurant, Ottawa, took home the “People’s Choice” award and Schnipke Inn, also of Ottawa, took home the “Judge’s Choice” award. The wings were judged on aroma, texture and flavor.
