Sheriff's office reveals multi-county drug bust

OTTAWA - In a press release by the Putnam County Sheriff's office, Sheriff Jim Beutler has indicated his deputies have been investigating a long-term drug operation for approximately the last year. The sheriff's office assigned deputies to the Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force Unit (MAN Unit) and they joined officers from the Defiance County Sheriff's Office, Defiance Police Dept., Williams County Sheriff's Office and Bryan Police Dept. with the year-long investigation.
The variety of drugs that were sold to agents and or confidential informants included marijuana, cocaine, heroin, LSD (acid), prescription pills, psilocybin (mushrooms) and bath salts.
According to the sheriff's office, approximately 40 people and over 120 felony charges have been forwarded to the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office for review. People that have been or will be charged are from Putnam, Van Wert, Paulding, Defiance and Allen Counties.
The sheriff's office has named those that are currently indicted as:
Vickie L. Rayle, 53 of Continental on five counts of Trafficking in Drugs and one count of permitting drug abuse.
William C. Rayle, 50 of Continental on three counts of trafficking in drugs
Gary L. Snow, 34 of Continental on two counts of sale of prescription drugs
Charles R. Gee, 35 of Continental on one count of trafficking in drugs
Daniel J. Garcia, 36 of Defiance on two counts of trafficking in drugs and two counts of permitting drug abuse
Robert W. Pollock, 37 of Lima on three counts of trafficking in drugs and three counts of permitting drug abuse
Johnny G. Rakes, 36 of Van Wert on five counts of trafficking in drugs and four counts of permitting drug abuse.
The sheriff indicated the remaining persons are expected to be charged in the near future.
