Teen murder trial set for Nov. 4

Michael Fay, 17, was back in the Putnam County Common Pleas Court on July 25, this time to discover when his trial will begin. Fay is accused of the May 9 murder of Ottawa teens Blake Romes, 17, Blaine Romes , 14.
Fay and his mother Vicki Fay were living with the brothers and their mother Michelle Grothause in an Ottawa at the time of the two deaths. Fay is charged with two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of abuse of a corpse, one count of tampering with evidence, and one count of grand theft of a motor vehicle.
Fay, accompanied by his mother Vicki Fay and attorney William Kluge, briefly appeared in the courtroom today to discover that a trial date of November 4 has been set, although no time was announced. Todd Schroeder was the representing prosecuting attorney.
A pretrial conference is scheduled for August 19 with pretrials motions (a document filed with the court by one of the parties to shape the pending trial) to be made by August 26. Pretrial is scheduled for 2 p.m., September 10.
