FINDLAY - Three suspects from Kentucky are facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 2,421 Ecstasy pills, worth approximately $24,000 following a traffic stop in Hancock County.
Troopers stopped a rented 2014 Ford Edge, with Florida registration, for failing to display taillights, on Interstate 75, near milepost 159, in Hancock County at 12:51 a.m. on Jan. 9. Criminal indicators were observed and a Findlay Police Department drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the pills, under the rear seat.
The driver, Darius Reaves, 42, and passengers, Martise Corley, 35, and Colette Tooley, 24, all from Louisville, Ky., were incarcerated in the Hancock County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.
If convicted, each subject could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.
