UPDATE: Flooding expected on the Blanchard River

Melting snow and rain on Friday and Saturday have the water level of the Blanchard River continuing to rise.
As of Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. the water level was 21.47 feet and continuing to rise. The river is expected to crest at 23.8 feet on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a Flood Warning for the Blanchard River at Ottawa from late Sunday to Thursday morning. Minor flooding is forecast with the flood stage at 23 feet.
The river will rise above flood stage very early Monday morning and crest near 23.8 feet around 1 AM Tuesday, January 15 and fall below flood stage around 7 AM Wednesday, January 16. Lowland flooding occurs mainly in south Ottawa.

SAFETY MESSAGE... NEVER DRIVE VEHICLES THROUGH FLOODED AREAS. THE WATER MAY BE TOO DEEP TO ALLOW SAFE PASSAGE. NEVER ALLOW CHILDREN TO PLAY IN OR NEAR FLOOD WATERS.
