PUTNAM COUNTY - The Putnam County Libraries are offering the following programs:

Magician at the library

The Putnam County District Library will have "Draper" the Magician at all eight locations in June. All are welcome to attend this free program sponsored by the Friends of the Putnam County District Library and area local businesses. Register to win African Safari tickets, winner will be drawn after the last presentation on June 13. The schedule is as follows: Monday June 10 - Ottawa location at 11 a.m. and Kalida location at 1 p.m.; Tuesday June 11 - Fort Jennings location at 11 a.m. and Pandora-Riley location at 1 p.m.; Wednesday June 12 - Leipsic Edward-Gamper Memorial location at 11 a.m. and Ottoville-Monterey Twp. location at 1 p.m.; Thursday June 13 - Columbus Grove location at 11 a.m. and Continental location at 1 p.m.

Summer story times

Putnam County District Library locations will have "Ready to Read" story times starting June 10 - 26 / July 8-24. These story times will include six critical pre-reading skills that can help your child become a better reader. The schedule for all locations is as follows: Columbus Grove - Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.; Continental - Monday at 6:30 p.m.; Ft. Jennings - Tuesday at 10 a.m.; Kalida - Tuesday at 10 a.m.; Leipsic - Wednesday at 10 a.m.; Ottoville - Wednesday at 10 a.m.; Ottawa Monday at 10 a.m.; Pandora - Wednesday at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend these free programs.

Prehistoric fun at the library

The Putnam County District Library will have "Prehistoric Flinstone Fun with Valerie" at four Library locations in June. All are welcome to attend this free program sponsored by the Friends of the Putnam County District Library and area local businesses. Register to win Baylor Beach Tickets, winner will be drawn after the last presentation on June 20. The schedule is as follows: Monday June 17 - Kalida Union Twp. location at 1 p.m.; Tuesday June 18 - Fort Jennings location 11 a.m.; Thursday June 20 - Columbus Grove Location at 11 a.m. and Leipsic Edwards-Gamper Memorial location at 1 p.m.

Book Character Masquerade at the library

The Putnam County District Library in Ottawa will have a "Book Character Masquerade" on Tues. June 18 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. All kids grades 5-12 are welcome to come dressed as your favorite book character. This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Putnam County District Library and Area Local Businesses.

Dig into dinosaurs at the library

The Putnam County District Library will have "Dig Into Dinosaurs with Dale" at four Library locations in June. Join Dale from The Ohio State University for this interesting program. All are welcome to attend this free program sponsored by the Friends of the Putnam County District Library and Area Local Businesses. Register to win Big Splash Indoor Waterpark Tickets, winner will be drawn after the last presentation. The schedule is as follows: Wed. June 19 - Ottawa Location at 9:30 a.m. , Pandora-Riley Location at 11:30 a.m. , Ottoville-Monterey Twp. Location at 1:30 p.m. , Continental Location at 3:30 p.m.

Umbrella stories at the library

The Putnam County District Library will have "Umbrella Stories with Storytelling Lady Rita" at six library locations in June. All are welcome to attend this free program sponsored by the Friends of the Putnam County District Library and area local businesses. Register to win DeBrand Chocolate tour tickets, winner will be drawn after the last presentation. The schedule is as follows: Monday June 24 - Ottawa location at 11: a.m. and Kalida Union Twp. location at 1 p.m.; Tuesday June 25 - Fort Jennings location at 11 a.m. and Pandora-Riley location at 1 p.m.; Thursday June 27 - Columbus Grove location at 11 a.m. and Continental location at 1 p.m.

Family fun movie night

The Putnam County District Library in Ottawa will have a movie on Tues. June 25 at 6:00 p.m. Due to licensing we can not post the movie title outside the library. HINT...new June release on DVD leaving a planet. All are welcome to see this free movie. This program is sponsored by The Friends of the Putnam County District Library. Toledo Zoo at the library

The Putnam County District Library will have the Toledo Zoo with live animals at two locations in June. All are welcome to attend this free program sponsored by the Friends of the Putnam County District Library and Area Local Businesses. Teen lock-In

Teen lock-in at the Library The Putnam County District Library in Ottawa will have "1980's Neon" Lock-In on Tues. June 11 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for grades 5-12. Come dressed in Neon or 1980's attire. There will be Nana Blocks, 80's Board Games, Color War, Duct Tape Crafts, 80's movies, Atari, PS2 & Wii games, snacks and prizes. All are welcome to attend this free program sponsored by the Friends of the Putnam County District Library and Area Local Businesses.

Teen program at the library

The Putnam County District Library in Ottawa will have "Chat, Snack, & Flix" on Thurs. June 20 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. All kids grades 5-12 are welcome to chat with Dana Sutherland, cave specialist. The featured book is "Journey to the Bottomless Pit: the story of Stephen Bishop and Mammoth Cave" by Elizabeth Mitchell and for the movie title you can call the library.
