COLUMBUS GROVE - Delphos Herald, Incorporated (DHI) has announced the closure of the main office of the Columbus Grove Vidette's newspaper effective immediately. The company cited financial reasons for the closure of the office.
"The office did not see enough traffic and we did not believe it was profitable to keep the office open," said Lisa Smith, general manager for Putnam Publications, a company of DHI that oversees operations for the Vidette.
The newspaper will continue to publish with all operations being done from the Ottawa office, which is also the office of the Putnam County Sentinel, a sister paper to the Vidette. The office was originally set to close on Jan. 31, but closed effective this week.
Those wishing to drop off news items may do so at the Columbus Grove Branch of the Putnam County Library which is open on Mon. from 2 to 8 p.m.; Tues. and Thurs. from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sat. from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. where a news box will be located. Other means of submitting news can be by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or at the Ottawa office located at 224 East Main St. in Ottawa. The phone number for the Vidette will remain 419-659-2173.
