OTTAWA - The National Weather Service in Indiana has issued a flood watch for the Blanchard River in Ottawa from Monday morning until late Wednesday night.
At 11 a.m. Saturday the Blanchard River was at 20.5 feet and rising,w which means flooding is possible.
Warm weather led a quick snow melt which increased the water level of the river and with more rain on the way for Saturday night and Sunday that will allow for the water level to rise. The weather service expects the water level of the river to rise by 23.6 feet by Tuesday morning.
A flood warning has been issued for the Auglaize River in Fort Jennings along with small creeks and streams throughout the area due to the snow melt and rain on Friday as well what could fall on the area Saturday night through Sunday. One to two inches of rain is forecasted for the area.
