Wellness program hosting film series at YMCA

OTTAWA - The Putnam County wellness program, Live Healthy Live Happy Putnam County is hosting a film series at the Putnam County YMCA. The Weight of the Nation will be playing four nights at the YMCA.
The film series is an HBO series which looks at the causes and possible solutions to stop the growing numbers of obese Americans.
Each part of the film will be shown at the YMCA from 6 to 8 p.m. on the following nights:
Wednesday Jan. 16: Part one- Consequences. Part one examines the scope of the obesity epidemic and explores the serious health consequences of being overweight or obese.
Wednesday, Jan. 23: Part two- Choices. Part two will help lead any group interested in achieving better health in the right direction.
Wednesday Jan. 30: Part three- Children in Crisis. Part three discusses the real risk children face from carrying too much weight.
Wednesday Feb. 6 Part four- Challenges. The final film examines the origins and severity of the obesity epidemic, examines its major driving forces and looks at opportunities for communities to fight back.
These films are not intended for children. There will be free child watch for children six to eight years of age. An open gym will be from 6 to 8 p.m. and an open swim from 7 to 8 p.m. for children eight years of age and older.
