The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for Putnam County until 1 p.m. today.

Wind chills were expected to drop to between minus 15 to 20 degrees below zero. Temperatures are in the single digits and with a west winds of 15 to 25 MPH will drop the wind chill below zero. At 9 a.m. this morning the wind chill was minus 11 with a temperature of nine degrees. The high for today is expected to be 19 degrees.
Prolonged exposure to exposed skin could lead to frost bite.
