NEW CLEVELAND - C. Lucille Schroeder, 91, of New Cleveland, died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born Aug. 8, 1921 in New Cleveland to the late A.J. and Elizabeth (Klear) Laubenthal. On May 28, 1941, she married Ernest F. Schroeder who died June 18, 1992.
She is survived by her children, David (Marlene) Schroeder of Ottawa, Leslie (Virginia) Schroeder of Miller City, Nancy Walther of Leipsic, William (Nancy) Schroeder of Ottawa and Randall (Miriam) Schroeder of Leipsic; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, James (Mildred) Laubenthal of Ottawa; a sister, Eileen (Leon "Shorty") Niese of Leipsic; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Laubenthal of Glandorf.
Preceding her in death is a son, Howard Schroeder; a grandson, Jeffery Schroeder; a brother, Lewis "Boz" Laubenthal; and a sister, Betty Steffen.
Lucille was a homemaker. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland and its Altar Rosary Society and a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending the winters in Texas, quilting and crocheting.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6 at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Cleveland with Fr. Stephen Schroeder officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic.
