PHOENIX, Ariz. — George Alfred Alt, of Phoenix, passed away July 19, 2014. George, 83, was born Jan. 6, 1931 in Miller City, to Clarence and Clara Alt.

George is survived by Madonna Cavanaugh, his wife of 62 years ; his children, Kevin (Libby), Ron (Carol), Laurie Goss and Justin; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sisters, Jean Schroeder of Michigan, Patricia Inkrott of Miller City, Eileen (Mel) Wagner of Milelr City and his brother, Donald (Dolores) Alt of Ottawa.

George was preceded in death by two daughters, Jacqueline and Mariann, a sister, Rita Erford, and a brother, Robert Alt.

A plumber by trade, he started D&G Plumbing, which he operated successfully as a sole proprietor for 30 years until his retirement in 2000.

George was a veteran in the Korean War.

A memorial Mass will be held Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City Reverend Stephen Schroeder ill officiate.

Memorial services were held at St. Louis the King Catholic Church, Glendale, Arizona.
