CLOVERDALE - Harold R. "Barney" Barnhart, 84, of Cloverdale, died at 12:11 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at his residence.
He was born May 15, 1929, in Putnam County, to the late Steven and Mary (Eagleson) Barnhart. On Aug. 11, 1956, he married Mary Miller and she survives in Cloverdale.
Also surviving are his children, David Barnhart of Odessa, Texas, Michael (Sue) Barnhart of Ottawa, Judy (John) Decker, Dan (Brenette) Barnhart and Cher (Mark) Elliott all of Kalida; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, LeRoy Barnhart of Cloverdale; and three sisters, Mildred Klink of Elida, Phyl (Martin) Schaad of Harrod and Angelia Duncan of Continental.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Barnhart; two brothers, Clarence Barnhart and Ralph Barnhart; and two sisters, Frances Steel and Cecelia Dake.
Harold retired after 35 years from Philips Display Components and was a farmer. He was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale and its Holy Name. He was also a member of the Kalida Knights of Columbus and a US Army Veteran.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, at St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale with Fr. John Stites officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township.
