Herberty Muffley - Putnam Sentinel

Ottawa – Herbert D. Muffley, 91, of Ottawa died 7:29 a.m. Sunday, December 17, 2017 at his residence. He had been a long time truck driver for Wenham & Niese Transport, retiring in 2000. He was born July 27, 1926 in Lapaz, IN to the late Donald and Anna Marie (Espich) Muffley. On April 9, 1960, he married Betty Baughman, who survives in Ottawa.

Herbert is also survived by his daughter, Debbie Mullins of Ottawa; a granddaughter, Betty Jo Mullins of Findlay, 2 grandsons: Jack (Sarah) Mullins and Steve (Kayla) Mullins, both of Ottawa; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; 2 brothers: Richard (Martha) Muffley of Plymouth IN, and Jimmy Muffley of New Port News, VA; 2 sisters: Phyllis Hessler and Linda (Wayne) Allen, both of Plymouth, IN.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Fredrick and Billy Mullins; and a sister, Judith Brinkman.

Herbert was a US Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the Ottawa VFW and the Teamsters Union of Lima. His passion was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, with Rev. Marshall Metzger officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 9 - 11 a.m. at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.
