DUBLIN, Ohio - John Paul Mason, age 47 of Dublin, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 after a long battle with diabetes.
He was born in Lima on July 11. 1965 to Josephine Mason and Harry Mason.
John is survived by his loving special friends, Dean Thomas of Dublin and Dee Marts of Dublin; his mother, Josephine Jones and step father Gary Jones of Leipsic; also his sisters, Mary Mann of Colorado Springs and Paula Moore of Columbus, his brother, Edward G. Mason of Dublin, a step sister, Jenny (Henderson) Jones, half brothers, Kevin and Joshua Jones, all of Lima; six nephews and one niece; and four step nieces and eight step nephews.
John was an amazing man who constantly gave to others. He will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
He was proceeded in death by grandparents, John P. and Norma C. Mason of Ottawa, Paul J. and Mary Ellen Pitchford of Lima, and half grandparents, Howard and Florence Jones of Leipsic.
John was a former cook at Putnam Acres Care Center in Ottawa and Bert and Bernie's Black Angus in Kalida. He was a manager for Zettler's Hardware in Dublin for many years.
In accordance with John's wishes, no services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the Nephrology Department at Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 16810, Columbus OH 43216-6810.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Schoedinger Linden Memorial Chapel, Columbus.
