PANDORA - John W. Sheidler, 92 died at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
He was born July 22, 1920 in Pandora to the late Ray and Pansy (Miller) Sheidler. He married Eileen Baker and she preceded him in death. He later married Marilyn Waltz Shoemaker and she survives in Pandora.
John was a farmer. He was a member of the Pandora United Methodist Church. He enjoyed showing ponies and traveling and was a graduate of Pandora High School.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Alice (David) Brewster of Mt. Cory, Karen (Ned) Powell of Linden, Mich., Lou Ann Dierking of Sarasota, Fla., and Sharon (Dan) Reel of Delphos; two sons, Tom (Marilyn) Sheidler of Jupiter, Fla., Tim (Virginia) Sheidler of Greenwood, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two stepsons, Randal (Vickie) Shoemaker of Pandora, Mark (Karen) Shoemaker of Pandora; a step daughter Cindy (Glen) Stechschulte of Columbus Grove; six step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and a sister, Esther Buehrer of Pandora.
A sister, Genevieve Nusbaum, preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pandora United Methodist Church. Rev. Duane Kemerley officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora.
Friends and family may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Memorial contributions may be made to Pandora United Methodist Church.
