COLUMBUS GROVE – Joseph A. Blankemeyer, 77, of Columbus Grove died 10:12 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus.

   He was born December 4, 1936 in Columbus Grove to the late Cornelius and Cecilia (Goecke) Blankemeyer.  On Oct. 27, 1962, he married Judith Eversole who survives in Columbus Grove.

   Survivors also include three children: Steven (Laura) Blankemeyer of New Albany, and  Lisa (Jon) Diller and Glenn (Amy) Blankemeyer, both of Columbus Grove; nine grandchildren: Nathan, Alyssa, and Erica Blankemeyer, Courtney, Jena, Clay, and Logan Diller, and Cole and Dylan Blankemeyer; two brothers: Norman (Kathy) Blankemeyer of Maumee and James (Carolyn) Blankemeyer of Venore, TN; a sister: Patricia Donaldson of Columbus Grove; and three sisters-in-law: Juanita Blankemeyer of Ottawa, Delores Blankemeyer of Columbus Grove, and Judith Blankemeyer of Kalida.

   He was preceded in death by three brothers: William, Daniel, and Robert Blankemeyer; a sister: Anne Blankemeyer; and a brother-in-law: James Donaldson.

   Joseph retired from Scot Lad Foods, Lima.  He was an Army Veteran and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove and K of C, Columbus Grove.

   Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove with Fr. Tom Extejt officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Columbus Grove with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m.
