COLUMBUS GROVE — Kathleen Sue Ballinger Coffey, age 76, died at 3:40 am on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Heartland of Uptown Westerville, Westerville, Ohio.

She was born on October 23, 1941 in Lima, Ohio to Jess Ballinger and Hilda (Burger) Evans. Both parents preceded her in death.

On July 28, 1962, she married Richard Eugene Coffey, who preceded her in death on May 14, 1998.

Kathleen is survived by two sons, Raymond Allen (Dottie) Coffey of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Timothy Daniel (Barbara) Coffey of Columbus Grove, Ohio; one daughter, Linda Lorraine Coffey of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Linda Lou (Vernon) Leugers of Elida, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Derek (Jaimee) Coffey, Gabriel Coffey, Kylie Coffey, Mindi (David) Mitchell, Steven (Kari) Cooper, Courtney Wells, Zachary Seng, and Christopher Goodman; and eight great-grandchildren, Declan and Tucker Coffey, Brady, Dylan, Reese and Ryder Mitchell, and Mason and Karlee Cooper.

Mrs. Coffey was a graduate of Lima Central Catholic School and a retired school bus driver for Columbus Grove Schools. She was a homemaker and an avid genealogist. She enjoyed working with various crafts and enjoyed family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 am, on Monday, May 7, 2018, at St. Gerard's Church, Lima, Ohio. Father Michael Houston will officiate with burial to follow in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.

Friends may call from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2017, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove.
