DELPHOS — Marcella “Sally” Niemeyer, 93, of Delphos, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Sarah Jane Living Center.
She was born Dec. 10, 1923, in Fort Jennings, to William and Rosa
(Miller) Ricker. Both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage
to Bernard Niemeyer on Oct. 26, 1946, and he preceded her in death on
Jan. 10, 1991.
She is survived by a son, Mike (Linda) Niemeyer of Lima; a daughter,
Lisa (Gregg) Faurot of Delphos; four grandchildren, Lindsey (Josh)
Conner, Jenna (Adam) Kroeger, Alyssa Faurot, and Ann (Dale) Perkins;
five great-grandchildren; and her dog “Dessi”.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Ellerbrock, Bertha Kuhlman, and Marie Maag; and a grandson, Mark Niemeyer.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, CL of C,
and a past member of the Eagles. She loved the outdoors and was very
meticulous in taking care of her yard. She enjoyed going to the lake and
fishing. She was a care giver at heart and always willing to help her
family and friends. Sally had worked at K.P. Manufacturing and at Myers
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 13, 2017, at 11
a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Dennis Walsh
will officiate. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may
call on Sunday, March 12, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral
Home. A parish wake will be held at 7:30 p.m.
