CONTINENTAL - Richard J. Prince, 86, of Continental died at 11:10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance. He was born April 15, 1926 in Piqua to the late William and Loa Flo (Wilson) Prince. On July 12, 1965, he married Darlene Jones and she survives in Continental.


Also surviving are his two children: Jamie (Patricia) Prince of Fostoria and Loa Jeannine (Gregory) Nickloy of Toledo; four grandchildren: Joshua (Karina Ryan) Prince of New York City, NY, Ashley (Jeremy) Keller of Chicago, Emma Prince of Fostoria, and Emily (J.R.) Keegan of Toledo. He was also preceded in death by a son: Johnny Prince and a brother: Tom Prince.
Richard retired from General Motors, Defiance in 1988 and was a retired farmer. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Richard was an Army Veteran who served from 1944 to 1946 in the European Theatre during World War II. He was a member of the NRA and UAW Local 211. Dick was an avid amateur photographer and fisherman and loved to read. He loved his dogs, cats and livestock in general. Dick loved the Lord Dearly and was looking forward to going home to Him.
Funeral service was held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Continental with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating. There was a military service by the Continental American Legion following the funeral service.
