CONTINENTAL - Roman Eickholt, Jr., 67, of Continental died 5:35 p.m. Friday, Aug.29, 2014 at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.  He was born Sept. 25, 1946 in Lima to the late Roman S. and Agnes J. (Schwaiger) Eickholt, Sr.  Also his step-mother, Margaret (Wehri-Dickman) Eickholt is deceased.  On Dec. 5, 1970, he married Patricia Anne Hickey who survives in Continental.

   Roman is also survived by three sons: Shane Eickholt of Continental, Blake Eickholt of Cloverdale and Heath Eickholt of Continental; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Bob (Donna) Eickholt, Terry (Stacy) Eickholt and Alan Eickholt (Ann Rayle) all of Cloverdale; 4 sisters: Mary (Ken) Doseck of Upper Sandusky, Bonnie (Bill) Beining, Leah (Dan) Ditto and Lisa (Albert) Bilimek all of Cloverdale.  He is preceded in death by a brother, John Eickholt and a sister, Joyce Eickholt.

   He worked at Powertrain Division of General Motors in Defiance.  He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental,  member of American Trap Shooter Association, National Rifle Association and various game clubs. He was a veteran of the Army.  Roman enjoyed gardening, refinishing antiques, hunting and fishing.  He dedicated his life to his wife, sons and his grandchildren.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Continental, with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating.  Burial will follow in  St. Joseph Cemetery, North Creek with a military graveside by Continental American Legion.   Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental.
