OTTAWA - Teresa C. (Schmenk) Warnecke, 90, of Ottawa died 6:45 P.M. Friday, July 18, 2014 at The Meadows at Putnam Acres, Ottawa.  She was born December 31, 1923 in New Cleveland to the late Casper and Theresa (Meyer) Schmenk.  On June 26, 1946, she married Lambert J. Warnecke.  He died April 22, 1995.

  She is survived by her 5 children: Eugene (Rose) Warnecke of Glandorf, Robert (Karen) Warnecke, David (Mary) Warnecke, and Gerald (Anne) Warnecke, all of Ottawa, and Rose Ann (Edward) Gerschutz of Miller City; 13 grandchildren: Nicholas (Katie) Warnecke, Adam (Melissa) Bellman, Kim ( Matt) Everhart, Keri (David) Hovest, Erin (Jason) Beckett, Laura (Andy) Buckland, Megan (Doug) Nienberg, Amy (Brian) Heebsh, Michael (LaNae) Warnecke, Sara (Ben) Meyer, Dana (Chad) Laubenthal, Kelly (Benj) Rieman and Alan (Tonya) Gerschutz; 26 great-grandchildren and 5 sisters-in-law:  Florence Schmenk, Rosemary Siefker, Margaret Siefker, Mildred Vorst and Helen Warnecke.

   Teresa is preceded in death by her daughter:  Mary Jane Warnecke; 1 great-grandson: Henry Nienberg; 5 sisters:  Velma Utendorf, Edna Musch, Sister Jane Schmenk, OSF, Alvina Ellerbrock and an infant sister: Margaret Schmenk;  and 5 brothers:  Eugene Schmenk, Cletus Schmenk, Nathan Schmenk, Casper Schmenk and John Schmenk.

   Teresa retired from Philips Display Components.  She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Glandorf, and its Altar Rosary Society and Ottawa Eagles Auxiliary.  She enjoyed bowling for many years and playing cards. Family, the grandkids and the great-grandkids were the love of her life.

   A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf, with Fr. Tony Fortman officiating.  Burial will follow in church cemetery.   Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa, where a scripture service held at 1:45 p.m.

   Memorials may be given to the St. John Capital Campaign.
