OTTAWA - Timothy E. Fortman, 66, of Ottawa died at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Kindred Hospital, Lima.
He was born May 27, 1946 in Lima to Elmer and Alice (Odenweller) Fortman. His mother is deceased, his father survives in The Meadows of Kalida. On Sept. 27, 1969 he married Linda Gerdeman who survives in Ottawa.
Also surviving is a daughter, Katie Fortman of Dayton; a brother, Robert (Nancy) Fortman of Findlay; three sisters, Marcia (Roger) Lammers of Ottawa, Barbara (Keith) Hall of Dayton, and Mary Jo (Dan) Bockrath of Glandorf; and several nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.
Tim retired after over 35 years at Fortman's Body Repair in Ottawa. He was a 1964 graduate of Ottawa High School. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, the Port Clinton Moose, and Ottawa Eagles. Tim loved going to his cottage at Lake Erie and visiting Put-in-Bay. He enjoyed fishing and Monday night poker.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.
