OTTAWA- Urban J. Lammers, 91, of Ottawa, died Sunday, March 30, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. at his residence. He was born Nov. 15, 1922, in Miller City, to the late John and Emma (Schroeder) Lammers. On May 29, 1947 he married Germaine Nichols who survives in Ottawa. 

   He is survived by five children; Lois Lucking of Clayton, OH, Elaine (Edwin) Steffen of Miller City, Jeanne Greer of Yorktown, IN, Jan (Bruce) Moening of Ottawa, Alan (Susan) of Brookville, OH,  and Kevin (Carla) Lammers of Waterville, OH; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Doris Orinin of Ottawa and Dolly Gorney of Toledo, OH. He was preceded in death by one son-in-law: Michael Greer; three  bothers: Victor Lammers, Norman Lammers, Bernard Lammers; four sisters: Agnes Geckle, Nettie Breisacher, Margaret Schroeder, and  Rose Honigfort.

   Urban retired from Kohls Market, Ottawa, after 42 years of service. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and its ministry of praise. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #63, VFW Post 9142, and the Ottawa Eagles Aerie #2234. 

  A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Ottawa VFW, American Legion, and AMVETS. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. 

   Memorials may be made to a Putnam County Home Health and Hospice or Sts. Peter and Paul School.
