Virginia A. Sroufe

CLOVERDALE - Virginia A. "Ginni" Sroufe, 67, of Cloverdale, passed away at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born April 3, 1946 in Lima to Hubert "Bud" and Julie (Hoersten) Hemker who preceded her in death. On Nov. 18, 1967 she married Larry E. Sroufe and he survives in Cloverdale.
Also surviving are two sons, Darren (Jan) Sroufe of Boonville, Ind., and Craig (Katrina) Sroufe of Cloverdale; two daughters, Nichole (Judd) Spencer of Cloverdale and Gwenn Spencer of Ottoville; ten grandchildren, Austin (Tazz) Eickholt, Kelsi Dickman, Shane Wilson, Andrew Brickner, Conner Brickner, Katy Robey, Veronica Sroufe, Coltin Sroufe, Marisa Brickner, and Nathan Geise; two great-grandchildren, Jenna Wayne and Eric Eickholt; four brothers, Ron (Anne) Hemker, Richard (Janet) Hemker both of Ottoville, Gary (Cathy) Hemker of Delphos, and Randy (Carol) Hemker of Louisville, Ky., and several nieces and nephews.
Virginia worked for Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert, and retired in 2009. She was a member of the FOP Auxiliary Evansville Lodge 73, VFW Auxiliary of Defiance, and American Legion Auxiliary Post 541 of Continental. She was a member of St. Barbara's Parish in Cloverdale, its Rosary Altar Society and served as a Eucharistic Minister.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 21, at St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale with Fr. John Stites officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township.
