To the editor:

The Ohio Department of Public Safety has been working for the last several years to program the newest version of the Automated Title Processing System. It is scheduled to “go live” over the New Year’s weekend.

Therefore, title offices across the state will cease to issue titles beginning at 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, Dec. 29, 2016 to allow for the conversion. The system is scheduled to be functional on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017.

In response to this system conversion the Putnam County Title Department will be open on Friday, Dec. 30, but will not be able to issue titles. Staff will be available to review and accept title application paperwork as well as process passport applications. The office will be closed on Monday, Jan 2, 2017 in observance of the New Year Holiday.

The Putnam County Title office will reopen for business on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 and look froward to serving your motor vehicle and watercraft and manufactured home needs. Your understanding is appreciated as we prepare for this new system.
