COLUMBUS GROVE — Allen East rallied over the final two quarters Thursday night to defeat Columbus Grove 50-44 in Northwest Conference action.

The win keeps the Lady Mustangs unbeaten in the NWC at 5-0 and they are 12-5 overall. The Bulldogs dropped to 4-2 in the NWC and 12-6 overall.

Columbus Grove held the Mustangs to 13 points in the opening half as they had a 20-13 halftime lead. The Bulldogs outscored the Mustangs 9-4 in the second quarter for that lead.

After struggling on offense in the opening half, the Mustangs came out of the halftime lockerroom to outscore Grove 22-16 in the third quarter to trail by one point after three quarters. Allen East finished the game with a 15-8 run as they hit several key free throws down the stretch to ice the game. Allen East hit 7-of-12 free throws in the fourth quarter.

Kaycee Rowe led the Mustangs with 17 points, 13 in the second half, and London Richardson hit three three-pointers to finish the night with 11 points. Carly Clum had 10 points for Allen East, who will play Crestview next Thursday in a battle of NWC unbeatens.

Lynea Diller came off the bench to lead the Bulldogs with 12 points and eight rebounds. Sammi Stechschulte hit three three-pointers for the Bulldogs as she had 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds. The Bulldogs had a 27-16 rebounding edge in the game.

Columbus Grove won the junior varsity game 49-14.

Kalida 69

Miller City 34

KALIDA — Kalida turned in a strong second half Thursday night to defeat Miller City 69-34 in Putnam County League action.

Kalida had a 23-19 halftime lead before outscoring Miller City 46-15 in the second half. The home Wildcats used a 19-4 third quarter scoring margin to extend their lead before closing the game with a 27-11 run in the fourth quarter.

Nicole Recker led three Kalida (2-2, 7-10) players in double digits with 17 points and six rebounds. Brittany Kahle finished with 13 points and Kylie Osterhage had 12 points and five rebounds.

Tiffany Welty and Jennelle Kuhlman both had seven points for Miller City (0-6, 1-14). Haley Lammers had five points and six rebounds.

Kalida won the junior varsity game 39-22.

Leipsic 76

Van Buren 33

LEIPSIC — Leipsic stayed a game back in the Blanchard Valley Conference standings with a 76-33 win over Van Buren Thursday night.

The Vikings are 7-1 in the conference and 14-3 overall. Liberty-Benton leads the BVC standings at 8-0 and they are 15-1 overall. Van Buren is 2-6 in the BVC.
Leipsic had a 19-6 lead after the opening quarter and were up 36-11 at halftime.
Amber Gerdeman led the Vikings with 17 points, while Haley Gerten and Shalynn Morman both had 12 points, Kelly Nadler added 10 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Leipsic won the junior varsity game 41-11.
Arlington 62
Pandora-Gilboa 51
ARLINGTON — Arlington outscored Pandora-Gilboa over the final three quarters Thursday night to claim a 62-51 Blanchard Valley Conference win.
The Rockets had a 19-17 lead after the opening quarter before the Red Devils outscored them 45-32 the rest of the way. The Red Devils turned the game around with a 12-7 second quarter scoring advantage.
Sierra Nichols led the Red Devils with 16 points, while Whitney Dodds had 11 points and eight rebounds.
Megan Maag had 18 points and six rebounds. Olivia Maag finished with 11 points.
Arlington won the junior varsity game 48-16.

Ottawa-Glandorf 49

Wapakoneta 37

OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf remained a game back in the Western Buckeye League with a 49-37 win over Wapakoneta at the Robert J. Hermiller Gymnasium.

The Titans moved to 6-1 in the league and 15-2 overall. Bath leads the WBL at 7-0 and they are 16-1 on the season.

O-G had a 35-26 lead after three quarters before using a 14-11 scoring run in the fourth quarter to finish the game.
The Titans were up 17-2 after the opening quarter before the Redskins (5-2, 10-7) rallied in the second and third quarters to outscore O-G 24-18.
Elissa Ellerbock had 17 points to lead the Titans and Kristen Miller added 16 points. Miller and Anna Bellman both had five rebounds for O-G.
Wapakoneta won the junior varsity game 50-44.

Archbold 52

Continental 32

CONTINENTAL — Archbold won a hard-fought game with Continental 52-32 in non-league action Thursday night.

The Bue Streaks had a 34-28 lead after three quarters before using an 18-4 scoring run in the final quarter for the win. Archbold had a 29-23 halftime lead before both teams scored five points in the third quarter.

Paige Ordway led the Pirates with 14 points.

Wyse had 13 points for the Blue Streaks.

The Pirates are 8-7 on the season. The Blue Streaks are 15-1 on the season.
