TROY — Ottoville freshman Brooke Mangas didn't let the pressure of competing in her first regional get to her Wednesday afternoon.
Mangas turned in a solid effort in the high jump as she finished second earning a trip to the Division III state meet next Friday. Mangas qualified from the Division III regional meet at Troy.
Mangas finished second in the high jump to Marion Local senior Gina Kramer. Mangas cleared 5-4, while Kramer was able to make 5-5 and win the event.
The Lady Green advanced in four other events Wednesday from the running semi-finals.
Freshman Alicia Honigford had the seventh best time in the 100 hurdles and Taylor Mangas had the fifth best time in the 300 hurdles. Honigford, B. Mangas, Karin Wendeberg and Taylor Mangas were sixth in the 4x100 relay, while Taylor Mangas, Wendeberg, Madison Knodell and Brooke Mangas were fourth in the 4x400 relay.
Ottoville's Colin Bendele finished eighth in the boys discus competition with a throw of 133-2.
The finals for the Troy Regional will be Friday with the remaining field events starting at 5 p.m. and the running finals starting at 6 p.m.
