Bulldogs clinch title share in NWC

ADA - Columbus Grove's volleyball team clinched at least a share of the Northwest Conference title Thursday night with a sweep of Ada, 25-11, 25-16, 25-16.The win moves the Bulldogs to 7-0 in the NWC and 16-2 overall. The Bulldogs can claim the outright title Tuesday night when they visit Crestview. Crestview was undefeated in the conference until Thursday night when they fell to Bluffton.
KALIDA - Leipsic clinched at-least a share of the Putnam County League title Thursday evening with a 25-9, 25-15, 25-8 win over Kalida.
The Vikings moved to 5-0 in the PCL and can win the outright title with a win over Miller City Tuesday night. Kalida dropped to 3-1 in the league and 10-9 overall.
Emily Ellerbrock had three aces for the Vikings as she was 25-of-26 serving and was 27-fo-27 setting with 16 assists. Kelly Nadler was 11-of-11 serving and 8-of-9 hitting with four kills, while Haley Gerten was 10-of-11 serving with three kills and she had nine kills as she was 15-of-18 hitting. Amber Gerdeman was14-of-15 hitting with eight kills and five blocks.
Alexis Decker had three aces for Kalida as she was 7-of-8 serving and had four assists as she was 26-of-30 setting. Kennedy Hoffman was 5-of-5 serving and Carlee Miller had four kills. Liz Turwald, 11-of-14 hitting, and Allison Recker both had three kills and Kylie Osterhage was 13-of-18 hitting. Nicole Recker had five assists as she was 30-of-35 setting.
Leipsic won the junior varsity contest 25-14, 25-16.
OTTAWA - Ottawa-Glandorf remained in a first place tie in the Western Buckeye League volleyball standings with a 25-12, 25-13, 25-17 win over Elida.
The Titans are 6-1 in the WBL and 14-5 overall.
Anna Bellman had 11 kills and two blocks for the Titans, while Niki Ellerbrock had 10 kills and 10 digs. Jordan Alt had six blocks and Ashley Stechschulte had 24 digs.
O-G rallied to win the junior varsity match 8-25, 25-16, 27-25.
Miller City 0
MILLER CITY - Miller City dropped a 25-18, 25-15, 25-18 non-league decision to Holgate Thursday evening.
Kylee Ricker was 41-of-41 setting for the Wildcats (2-18) with nine assists and six kills as she was 21-of-21 hitting. Chloe Ruck was 38-of-39 setting with five assists and 14 digs. She also was 12-of-12 serving.
Kristin Schmenk had five kills for the Wildcats and Sklar Niese had four kills and 15 digs. Janke vanWezel had 17 digs for Miller City and Jana Schroeder had 13 digs.
