Bulldogs defeat Pirates

COLUMBUS GROVE - Columbus Grove held Bluffton to 18 points over the final three quarters Thursday night on their way to a 44-28 Northwest Conference win.The Bulldogs (3-4, 5-13) had a 12-10 lead after the opening quarter before their defense took hold as the Pirates (4-3, 9-8) were held to just 18 points the rest of the game.
Columbus Grove had a 20-16 halftime lead before usng an 11-3 run in the third quarter to take control of the game.
Sydney McCluer had 16 points and four assists for the Bulldogs, while Rachel Schumacher had nine points. Renee Karhoff grabbed nine rebounds for the Bulldogs.
ARCHBOLD - Archbold held Continental to two points in the opening quarter Thursday night on their way to a 55-35 non-league win.
The Blue Streaks had a 12-2 lead after the opening quarter and were up 26-11 at the break. Archbold closed out the game with a 29-24 second quarter scoring margin.
Vanessa Koppenhofer had eight points for the Pirates and Paige Ordway had seven points.
