ELIDA — Patrick Henry jumped out to a quick lead Friday evening as the Patriots claimed a 11-0, five inning, win over Columbus Grove in the Division IV district finals.
The win sends the Patriots to the Division IV regional tournament at Patrick Henry Thursday. The Bulldogs saw their season end at 16-13.
Patrick Henry wasted little time in taking the lead as they scored seven times in the bottom of the first inning. The Patriots added four runs in the second inning.
Kollin Spence picked up the win for the Patriots as he tossed a three hitter.
Logan Ziegler had a double and three RBIs for Patrick Henry, while Kyler Seeman and Brade Breese both had two hits and an RBI.
Ryan Verhoff took the loss for Columbus Grove.
Riley Brubaker had two of the three Bulldog hits.
