COLUMBUS GROVE -Columbus Grove scored three times in the fifth inning on their way to a 7-2 Northwest Conference win over Ada Thursday afternoon.

The two Bulldog squads were tied 2-2 after Columbus Grove scored a run in the fourth inning. Columbus Grove took the lead with three runs in the fifth inning and closed out their scoring with two runs in the sixth inning.

Kyrah Yinger had a single, triple and an RBI for Grove, while Hope Schroeder hd a double and two RBI. Bobbi Heckel had a double for the Bulldogs in the win.

Heckel picked up the win for Grove (3-0, 7-2) as she allowed two runs, one earned, on two hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

Alexis Amburgey took the loss for Ada as she allowed seven runs, four earned, on four hits. She struck out four and walked one. The Bulldogs were hurt by eight errors in the game.

Rachael Wildman had a single and RBI for Ada.

FINDLAY -Becca Dean came through with the game winning hit Thursday afternoon as Liberty-Benton rallied to defeat Miller City 10-8 in non-league softball.

The Eagles (5-8) tied the game with a run in the bottom of the sixth before Dean came up in the bottom of the seventh and blasted a two run home run.

Miller City (1-6) trailed 5-2 after three innings before scoring four times in the fourth inning. The Eagles went back on top 7-6 before the Wildcats scored twice in the sixth inning.

Dean had a single, triple and home run in the game for the Eagles. Dean also picked up the win for Liberty-Benton as she allowed eight runs on nine hits.

Kylee Ricker (0-3) took the loss for Miller City as she allowed 10 runs, eight earned, on 12 hits. Morgan Inkrott had two singles and an RBI for the Wildcats. Jennifer Leis had a double and RBI, Jessica Vennekotter a double and two RBI and Cassie Niese had a double.
